Service Description

We are thrilled to introduce an educational and immersive field trip experience for school-aged children at Oak Hills Retreat Center! With over 25 unique custom art sculptures, each tied to an important object life lesson, students will be inspired and learn valuable lessons while engaging with art in a hands-on way. Highlights of the Tour: TEKS Foundations: observation and perception - The student develops and expands visual literacy skills using critical thinking, imagination, and the senses to observe and explore the world by learning about, understanding, and applying the elements of art, principles of design, and expressive qualities. The student uses what the student sees, knows, and has experienced as sources for examining, understanding, and creating original artwork. 40’ Dragon Sculpture – This powerful piece teaches the impact of our words, demonstrating how we can either be a fountain or a drain in someone’s life. Tractor/Trailer Tour – Hop on the trailer and take a scenic guided up to 1-hour tour of our 30+ art installations with object lessons. Farm Animal Education – Spend 30 minutes to 1 hour at our petting zoo, learning about farm animals like chickens and cattle, and discovering where food comes from so that you can understand what farm to table means. Enchanted Forest – After your learning experience, enjoy a relaxing lunch in our beautiful forest setting, perfect for 30-minute brown bag lunches. Field Trip Details: Cost: $20 per student & Teachers/Parents Free Capacity: Up to 250 students per day Available Dates: March 17 – May 16 September 2 – November 15 Times and total duration 2-3 hours: Session 1: Arrive from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Session 2: Arrive from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
